The Salivary Gland Diseases & Autoimmunity working group focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of autoimmune diseases of the ear, nose and throat. In addition to Sjögren's syndrome as the most common autoimmune disease in our specialist area, our research also focuses on vasculitides (granulomatosis with polyangiitis and eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis) and sarcoidosis. Here, we work on an interdisciplinary basis with colleagues from nephrology, rheumatology and neurology and are members of international collaborations.

In recent years, we have been able to make contributions to the diagnosis and monitoring of various salivary gland diseases, particularly through the use of various sonographic procedures.
